Here are some mixes to songs I wrote and performed which didn’t quite stick or remained obscured all this time; yet nevertheless are good efforts from the respective Dj’s. Mad props to them.

In exploring with music writing and performing my first couple of songs, I’ve had the oportunity to work with some great up and coming talent that have taken my music and made it a reality. I am very exited to see what else the near future brings and what other crazy stuff I can come up with. I am having a lot of fun and that’s what matters. Maybe eventually I’ll put together an album of some sort… but for now just wanted to release this little demo and share some of the good stuff that has come out of these wonderful CC collaborations. In this demo I thank Briareus and Matt Fatt for making a couple lyrics and my raspy ‘ol voice into some kick ass sounding stuff. Enjoy!
“Egocentric Youth” The Story so Far…
This silly silly song… lol Many think this song is about me, but for the record I’m not blond/rich/and I’m not that synical [well not all the time anyway 
]
Back in 2001 me and little bro, Leo, were messing around with some dj software he had stumbled upon–I think it was Rebirth? He’s always very much into remixing, and works currently as a dj among other things. So anywho! He had made this hot little downbeat track [instrumentals only], some chill beats put to a simple piano melody. I can write lyrics/poems/stories/etc like its going out of style; so he asked me to listen to his track and come up with a song [boy did I ever! lol]
Just to give u an idea of the “why I chose the subject matter”— Leo & I went to the same art college here in South Florida so we shared lot of the same friends– a pack of pretty/spoiled/synical/clicky boys and girls lol. People that lived to look hot, get in the hottest clubs, and act like they were the shit [Leo & I included lol] So I always used to say “What a pack ‘o debutants…” And so that jumped in my head when I started singing to Leo’s track. I imagined this kid that has it all [at least in his head], who’s done it all [at least in his book], and who’s over everything [at least to his eyes]; but who in the end falls in love just like anyone else.
The song had everyone we knew cracking-up for a while [let's face it/ it was a song about them lol] Eventually someone told me about the Creative Commons and that I should release the track for djs to remix; sounded pretty chill to me–so I did!

DJ IceSun Remixes “Egocentric Youth”
The song that would never die gets yet another remix, but this time is for real. DJ IceSun [Italian born--Dominican Republic resident female DJ-extraordinaire] has really taken this naughty song into the next level of playfulness. Her new remix “Egocentric Youth (DJ IceSun–ElectroIce Cool Boy Mix) almost reminds me of that opening song to the movie “Blade”–when everyone is dancing at this underground club. Like I told DJ IceSun myslef “I could spill my appletini to this… ooohps!” lol.
I liked this mix so much that I had to create a special-mix cover for it. OH!…and a promo page as well! ha! ha!

The mix also featured on an Italian radio station. Pretty sexy eh? Check it out! ["Egocentric Youth" is the closer of the show so you might wanna FF>> towards the end if you don't wanna listen to the whole thing---I know some people have zero patient like me lol]
The match was so good that DJ IceSun & I have decided to work on some more stuff. So stay tuned kidz! It’s gonna be hot! TZZZZZZZZZZ…
“When I Close My Eyes”
So I was bored ’round CCMixter.org and bumped onto a Collaboration “The CCMixter Collective”. DJ Rkod [on ccmixter] was trying to put together a CCMixter entry to the RPM Challenge ‘08 [Some online contest where you only get a month to put together an album... pretty crazy if you ask me.] Anywho! The team needed vocalists, so I volunteered–ended up performing lyrics provided for the collaboration by Narva9 [also on ccmixter]. Some other chick on there beat me to it since there was a deadline… but is all cool. I released the vocals to the Creative Commons on CCMixter after getting an “ok” by the director of the collaboration to see what the other djs on there could do with it; and here are the results so far [guess i'll keep adding to this post as other remixes are available].
I reaaaaaaaaaaally like the lyrics on this song. I think this girl Narva9 is a pretty good writer. The lyrics in this song are primarily what made me want to perform it. Is the story of a “procrastinator”, which I know a lot about lol. It is a pretty deep full circle. I wanted to sing this with a lot of sentiment and in a meditative tone [more like spoken-word ala MOBY]. In the end is all very nostalgic, very downbeat, very chillastic.

Notes: I’m not sure I like this mix to be honest. I really like the music Briareus has put together here… just not sure I like the pseudo sync of the vocals. Other than that I can listen to this and its sentimental take on things.

Notes: This is my mix of the thing-a-majiger. I really like DJ Rkod’s original mix planned for this song [that mix never happened]. So I went ahead and made this “straight to the point] mix just to see what it’d be like. Not too shabby if you ask me! But what do I know?
